Where's the snow?!

So it's December 7 and there still has not been one snow storm! I'm not even mad. It has been the nicest weather! I am just worried that because the winter is starting so late that it is going to go until June or something crazy. The last few weeks have been really fun! On Monday, Kate and her roommates threw their other roommate a mocktail bday party. Everybody had to come in cocktail attire and drink virgin cocktails. It was so fun!

It was Brady's birthday this week so Tuesday I planned a huge Tucanos dinner with a bunch of our friends.
Then Wednesday night I surprised him with tickets to the Jazz game. It was really fun! I also got him the game Settlers of Catan, which every boy loves. I have never played, but of course once we started playing I loved it! We are both really competitive so things have got a little heated at times, but it's fun.

Last night Brady, me and Lauren and Ryan went to the BYU vs. Utah State game in Salt Lake at the Energy Solutions Arena. Brady and his friends camped out for a couple days to get the best tickets, so our seats were on the floor!! The place was packed!! There were more people than the Jazz game on Wednesday! Afterward we went to dinner and walked around the temple lights. It was a great date night! I can't believe how soon Christmas is!! Oh and PS I cut bangs and I don't know how I feel about them!

Thankful

Happy Late Thanksgiving! Today I was very thankful. While I was at my grandma's house, I just kept thinking about how lucky I was to have such a great family. It's true that the things that matter most in life are free. I am so grateful to have a loving, close family. We all have our weird quirks and that is what makes everyone so special. I had such a great day today! After eating tons of food, all the girls (and Ryan), went to the movies. Everybody except for me, Lauren and Ryan went and saw Twilight. We saw the new Four Christmases movie. It was pretty funny, but I was wishing Brady was there the whole time. Then we all came home to my house and played a good game of Take Two. After that, my mom, Shelley and I watched The Notebook on tv. It was the perfect ending! Of course I couldn't keep from crying after only 15 minutes into the movie and by the end I was bawling. I am just so grateful for all the love I have in my life. This is why I have The Notebook music on my blog. I decided that everybody else will probably be changing their backgrounds and music to Christmas now, but I am going to love The Notebook till Dec. 1 and hold out. Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Thanks for reading my blog :)!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was really fun! My mom sent me the leather catsuit she wore last year. I wore it and some other accesories to be a devil. Emily was Minnie Mouse and Brady was a jabowakee (I probably spelled that wrong?) Anyway, we had a ton of fun! We went to Abbey's party and then to Lauren and Ryan's for a bit for some wings. I thought I would be self concious the whole night about wearing my catsuit, but I wasn't. On Saturday we went to the last BYU home game. It was really nice weather which made it fun. I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving. I haven't been home since the beginning of August. It feels like forever ago!! School is getting pretty tough, but I think I might be able to graduate next Dec. which would be awesome!!

So You Think You Can Dance

A couple weeks ago, SYTYCD came to Salt Lake. I had been looking at tickets online for about a month before but they were really expensive! Brady LOVES the show so I knew it would be a fun surprise to take him. The day of the show I got on ebay and saw 2 tickets for a pretty good price so I just bought them! I called Brady and told him we were leaving in an hour. He was pretty excited! Not only did I get tickets, but I got floor tickets on the third row. Our seats were amazing! It was way fun!! My family came in town last weekend and we had a lot of fun! We went to the Jazz vs. Suns pre game and the BYU game. It's always fun to have them come visit. Oh and I am also posting another picture of me with brown hair because the other one wasn't that good. K bye!

Brunette!

I decided I needed a change and the only way I could think of was to dye my hair brown. I have always wanted to do it, but I have never had the guts. Now that I did it, I can't really decide how I feel. It seems like I am wearing a wig! In my heart I just feel like a blonde. I'm sure I'll be back to my roots in no time! Let me know what you think :)

Does anybody even read my blog??

I am just wondering if anybody even reads my blog. I like updating it and such, but I don't feel like it's really worth it. If you read it or even just blog stalk it, will you comment on this post please? Thanks! :)

FALL

Fall is the second best season!! I love all the beautiful colors. Fall doesn't exist in Arizona. Last Sunday Brady and I went with a huge group of people on a motorcycle ride up the Alpine Loop (threw Provo canyon and out to Alpine) and it was so amazing!!!! The colors were great. Anyway, so nothing new is going on. School is really hard, but I am doing pretty well. I am in mostly upper division classes now so I feel like I am learning the same thing in every class. Two weeks ago we went to the state fair for Emily's 19th birthday. It was really fun! Last weekend my parents came up and went to the BYU game and just hung out. It was Brady's first game since he was little! It was really fun to have them here!!

Blast to the past.

So one of my good friends recently invented a time machine so I went in it. It was really fun and I took a high school picture while I was back there. It's from 1960. I'm back in 2008 now though so don't worry...

PHOTO SHOOT

Last night I was in a photo shoot. Our friend James is into photography so we went up the canyon and he took some really cool shots. These are just a few I took with my own camera. It was super fun! I'm really sad summer is over. I am already looking forward to October break.

I'm a junior...in college.

I haven't updated my blog lately because there is really nothing to update about. I moved into my new apartment and it's really nice! My mom drove Emily up last weekend, so she was here to help both Emily and I move in. For the last week and a half I stayed at the Jardine's house in Alpine, which was nice, but quite a commute. Anyway, my apartment is pretty small, but I'm used to it because my King Henry bedroom was also tiny. Keri is my only other roommate who has moved in and I alredy knew her. The other two girls are moving in this week. I'm really excited, but nervous at the same time! I have done a lot of things on my own i.e. Hawii and London, but for some reason this is more intimidating. I guess it's a little more personal. Today was the first day of classes at UVU. I started work last week and it was weird going from nobody in the halls to a ZILLION people in the halls. It really was crazy, but a good crazy. I enjoy the rush of stress and the high pace in which everyone walks as if they have somewhere more important than the person next to them to get to. It reminds me of the airport. Everybody there is trying to get on a plane and it's stressful. I like it. A couple days ago I had the idea to tie dye shirts so Brady had a bunch of people over and we tie dyed shirts and listened to music. It was really fun! It's finally time to get back to the real life. I thought I wanted this, but after going to class for 3 hours today I realized I was wrong.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Lauren Jo Davis is married!!! Her wedding was yesterday and it was quite and event. The reception was held in our backyard so the past couple weeks we have had people in and out setting up. The last few days have had really bad rainstorms at night, but we were so lucky that it was the most beautiful and perfect night! It's just weird that she is married now. I am so happy for her and Ryan! Congratulations!

E.F.Y. <3

Last week I was an EFY counselor at the University of Utah. It was one of the best experiences in my life! I seriously felt like I was more of a participant than a counselor. I had a group of 10 girls ages 16-18. Two of them were going to college in the fall! We all connected after all 11 of us got stuck in the elevator only minutes after meeting each other. My co-counselors were so awesome too! Kent is from Arizona so we had an instant connection. Not only because we are both from Arizona, but because of our love for the Suns and Queso Crunchwraps from Taco Bell. It was great. Sarah was my other co and she was the sweetest girl I have ever met! She made me feel comfortable right from the start and we had some really fun times together! Throughout the week there were talks, lessons, devotionals, dances, games and so much more. I am so grateful I was able to do this one week, but I wish I was able to more. Hopefully next summer I can do more sessions! I am home now for Lauren's wedding. It still doesn't seem real that she is getting married on Saturday.

Can't get enough.

I can't get enough of summer. WOW I just never want it to end! So yesterday was Pioneer Day. Only in Utah. It was great though because everybody had work off and it's basically just another reason to do fireworks. It seems like Spanish Fork can always find a reason. Anyway, for our Pioneer Day my roommate and I floated down the Provo River with a bunch of people. I think the water was around 15 degrees. Seriously, I was freezing the entire way. I wouldn't even let my legs/feet touch the water....and we were only using those single, black, rubber tubes! It was pretty intense, but a lot of fun. Afterwards we went to Stans Diner and got burgers. They have this pastrami burger that is just to die for. Then we invited ourselves over to my friend Brady's house to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" because he has DVR. Nice. For our night festivities we went 80's dancing at Area 51 in Salt Lake. Of course we had to get all dressed up. I only had 4 minutes to get ready so I had to go really fast, but it turned out great. It was way fun! I can only go 80's dancing like once every year and a half though. It's not something I would want to do every Thursday. This morning I had work at 10. (I work at a little kiosk in the mall called Paez...they are shoes from Argentina). I sold 4 pair of shoes in 3 hours!! I was so proud of myself! The only thing was that I still don't know how to use the register so I had to have the boy who works at "Flirty Aprons" help me. Anyway, tonight there is a dance party to benefit breast cancer. You know I'm supporting that.

Even sweeter after dark...

So summer is still awesome. I seriously can't even think of what I have done the last week. It's weird. All the days just blend together as one massive ball of fun. Last weekend I went on a date with Brady to see Batman (which was great...but long), and afterwards we went to Chatters (same as In n' Out), then went to the lake! It was night and it was a full moon so the lake was amazing! It was way fun. We also like to take motorcycle rides up the canyon and it's beautiful!! Saturday night I went on a date to the American Fork carnival. That was different. I never knew Utah was so....what's the word? I really don't think there is a word for whatever these people are. Anyway, last night I planned a reunion with my friends from London. We ate at Goodwood then came back to my apartment and made crepes and watched the video of pictures I made. It was so fun!!! I love those girls. Every time we get together it's just like a huge party! We are always laughing and it's tons of fun. I am being an EFY counselor starting on Monday and I am really nervous. Because it's one of the last sessions, they aren't having a training session for the counselors and it's REALLY stressing me out!!! I need a training session! I have never been a counselor before haha! It's going to be awesome though! I hope I am the counselor that every girl wishes they had. I am coming home on August 5 for Lauren's wedding. I still can't believe she is getting married. WEIRD! And Camille is having a baby in 2 months what? I need to step up my game. I'm falling behind in the world of my friends! But its ok because I love my life!!!!!

I want to marry summer time!!

I REALLY really love summer!! I don't think there is anybody in this world who enjoys the summer more than myself. California was a ton of fun! I love hanging out with my family. I pretty much just love my life!! We have been hanging out and doing something every single day and night and I love it! My roommate Carrie and I are on kind of a weird sleeping schedule. We can't really go to bed before 3:30 am. On Thursday we went to The Roots (they are kind of old school hip hop) concert in Salt Lake City. It was at an outdoor venue and it was seriously a great time! Afterwards we got a ton of Wendy's and went and ate it buy a fountain. Good times. Last night we went to a jersey party. Oh man it was insane! I wore an old school Michael Jordan jersey. You know it was the coolest one there. Carrie put two french braids on both sides of my head and made my hair look awesome!! It was such a fun night!! Today I think we are going to the pool and work on our tans, only to party it i up again tonight! I have the best life!!

CaLiFoRnIa

Right now I am in Carlsbad, California with my family. We come here every year for the 4th of July and I love it!! We stay in a condo that is right on the beach so we can be extremely lazy and all we have to do is walk down some stairs. It's amazing. Today I got really fried on my knees and my wrists. Kind of random spots, but hey at least I will have tan knees and wrists! haha We have had a lot of fun so far! Tomorrow we are going to church then to Marie Calendar's for brunch. It's the greatest tradition! This is my favorite thing we do all year!!!!

ROCK ON!

This summer has been amazing so far!! Last night we went to Seven Peaks for the $6 after 6 deal (I have to go at this time now because I spent all my money on the swimsuit I was wearing...hey at least I looked cute!) Then we came back and watched the Bachelorette. It was a great summer night. But it didn't end there. Then we went outside and it was a small thunderstorm, which was fantastic. I played lacrosse with one of my friends and then we just talked on the grass. Later we play catch with a football and played 500. It was way fun! Then a boy in our ward put his massive dj speakers outside and turned on some music. That was when everybody lost it! We had a dance party right there in the grass/sidewalk. It was probably about 10 people and it was one of the most fun and funny things I have ever done! We were all laughing so hard. After our intense dance party, we just laid in the grass and talked. The party doesn't even end there!! We finished the night off with some Rock Band. Rock Band has become sort of a ritual. Every night we want to play, but sometimes the owners don't really want us there. I love summer!! The greatest part about that whole summer night is the fact that I had been at the pool and Seven Peaks all day, so I had no make up on, my hair was sick and I was wearing red basketball shorts, a purple sports bra and a black tank top. It was amazing. Also, the other day we had a relief society cook off and it was so fun! We each had to make something and it was a competition. We felt like it was so early, but as you can see in the picture it was 11:00 in the morning. My roommate Carrie won with her homemade BBQ chicken pizza!

Monday 23 June 2008

hey big spender...stop spending.

So recently I have developed a habit of spending money. Who knew it could be so easy? I swear London did something to my blood. Usually I am very conservative with my money and save as much as possible. This past week I have not been so frugal. It may be London or it may be because I am going through some hard stuff right now, but whatever my excuse is--the bottom line is that there really is no excuse. I bought 3 swimsuits on Friday that were really quite pricey and not to mention non-returnable. Do I have the money? Of course not. It hit me like a ton of bricks when I looked at my bank account last night. WOW! I have never seen it so low. So when we had a couple friends over last night, I was in a money mode. I brought one of the girls to my room to show her the swimsuits. She tried one on, and 5 minutes later she wrote me a check! I was so relieved. Then today I took back some jeans I bought at Nordstrom. I am feeling better about my money situation now, but it still makes me sick to think about. I hate the mall!! I also hate credit cards. Don't get me wrong, I am going to survive. I will just have to eat cereal the rest of my summer. I want to get a job, but I can't because I will only be available for 3 weeks of July. Hard life, I know. But seriously, I wish I could work. So if anybody out there knows of any opportunities available let me know!

l.o.v.e.

I seriously cannot express my love for summer. It is insane how much I love this season!!!! Friday night we hung out on the lawn of King Henry and listened to music because the weather was amazing! Yesterday I was at the pool for seriously 6 hours straight. It was awesome. Then we had another bon fire last night. It's weird because it's really not even cold outside and we are having huge fires. People are try to hide behind each other so it is less hot haha. Thursday night we went to a rodeo and it was really fun!! I love rodeos. It reminded me of Lehi Days. Good times! Today after church we had a munch n' mingle. They had grilled cheese sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too. There were blankets set up in the grass in the shade. It was a fun time!

Thursday 19 June 2008

summer time baby!

It's finally summer!!! Things have been a little different since I got home, but it has been a lot of fun. Monday night for FHE we went to the Lehi Fairgrounds and painted everything for the upcoming rodeo. There was a BBQ after and it was really fun! Tuesday I went to the pool and got a ton of sun. That night me and my new roommate Carrie went to institute then went to our friend's house to watch the Celtics vs. Lakers game. It was fun! I like going to houses because it just feels nice to get away from gross apartments for a night. Today I got my hair done by Jenny and it's so so cute!! I needed it done so bad. Tonight we were going to our ward slip n' slide, but we got addicted to watching "So You Think You Can Dance." So we missed the slip n' slide, but we just went and played volleyball with some really hard core players. Then what do you know, some of my homeboys walk past so we hung out and went swimming. After we got a pizza from Little Caesars and ate it on the grass in front of the store. Later we went to our friends apartment and played Rock Band. I just love summer!!!!!
